Dear All,

You receive this message, because you are using, had used or had showed interesting in using the ARPS model system.

We have recently updated and improved the layout and content of the ARPS web page at http://www.caps.ou.edu/ARPS. Check it out for the latest information.

We have also set up auto-subscribing mailing lists for ARPS related announcements and user discussion. If you receive this mail, you are on the ARPSNEWS list already.

To subscribe to ARPSNEWS, send to listserv@listserv.ou.edu your mail containing a single line in the mail body

SUB ARPSNEWS your_full_name

To unsubscribe, send to the same address a mail containing

UNSUB ARPSNEWS

Remember to use the same mail server to subscribe and unsubscribe. If you have problem doing so, contact arpssupport@ou.edu. (arpssupport is replacing arpsuser@ou.edu, the former will become effective tomorrow). Check out User Support link on the ARPS web page.

The ARPSFORUM list provides a forum for ARPS users discuss issues and exchange ideas related to ARPS. Everyone can post to this list, and the messages are unmodulated. Use the same method to subscribe and unsubscribe as you do with ARPSNEWS, but replace ARPSNEWS with ARPSFORUM in the mail body.

Our current publicly available version is 4.4.0. Many new capabilities have been added and tested since Version 4.0 release three years ago. Again check out the web page for download info.

The frequently asked questions page has also been updated.

Furthermore, we are in the process of migrating to Fortran 90 (see the link in Future Plan on ARPS home page). Next major release, ARPS 5.0, is planned to be in Fortran 90. It means users with Linux machines will have to have a F90 compiler to use the system, the free g77 compiler will not work. Running ARPS under Windows with a F90 compiler is an alternative. *If this creates a significant problem for you, please let us know!*

We also have a page (User's Info) where links to your work, or simply your mailing address can be added. *Let us know if you willing to be listed there*.

As always, we welcome your feedback and thanks you for your interests in and your support for the ARPS.
