Abstract

The Center for Analysis and Prediction of Storms has developed a regional weather prediction model called the Advanced Regional Prediction System. The massively parallel implementation of the model has been tested in an operational setting each Spring, since the Spring of 1995. The model has been quite successful in predicting individual storms and storm clusters during these real-time operations which were made possible by the use of massively parallel machines.
